FAQ

What is the difference between a modified Seikomod watch and a full custom watch?

Modifying an existing watch and crafting a watch from scratch are two separate methods to produce distinctive watches, each with its own process and final outcome. • Modification involves taking a watch, typically a model from regular production, and altering it to improve specific functionalities or its appearance. Such modifications might entail adjustments to the watch’s dial, hands, bezel, case, mechanics, or other parts. • Conversely, constructing a watch from the ground up entails designing and assembling a watch entirely based on the individual requirements and tastes of a customer. • In a custom-designed watch, every part, from the casing to the dial, mechanics, hands, and beyond, is meticulously chosen or crafted to meet the customer’s specific wishes.

What type of movement do you use?

We select Seiko movements that best suit each client’s needs. The NH35/36 model is especially valued for its cost-effectiveness and reliability, providing an mechanical movement with automatic winding and a second stop feature. For GMT watches, I use the Seiko NH34 movement, and for skeleton watches, the NH70/71/72 movements.
